Hi, I'm Jess
My story started when I went to college with no specific direction. I was always seeking creative avenues, but could never quite nail it down. I've never found an art I wasn’t good at… excepting floral, which I quickly discovered was my creative kryptonite.
As I am neurodivergent, I find the quicker the satisfaction the better. While I’m a decently gifted painter, I’m not one to tolerate the waiting period while the paint is drying.
WHEN I FOUND PHOTOGRAPHY, AN INSTANT ART OF SORTS, IT SPOKE TO MY HEART IN A WAY NOTHING ELSE HAD BEOFRE.
I went on to study photography and graphic design in college… then dropped out. It wasn’t until a friend of mine bought a camera and asked for some help figuring it out that I got back into it. I shot my whole first season on a Canon Rebel T6 and a cheap 50mm lens.
I knew I needed a career that would work around my husband’s international/fighter pilot lifestyle. I needed something that gave me the ability to make my own hours, scale up or scale down as was required, and I knew I wanted to be my own boss.
MY HOPE WITH JOYRIDE IS TO SHARE THE MOST IMPORTANT BUSINESS TURTHS I'VE PICKED UP ALONG THE WAY.
It’s been a long journey to get to where I am today. I’m dying to share all my little tips, all the things I wish the me who picked up the camera all those years ago would’ve known.

Frankly, my qualifications stem from the belief that my success can be your success. Over the last six years, I have tried, I have failed, and I have learned how to move forward WELL. At this stage in my business, I am absolutely thriving as a business owner, and I truly believe YOU CAN BE TOO. My day job brings me the most joy.
